‘Introduction to Tapestry Weaving Part One’ In this two-day course, you will learn the basics of the traditional skill of Tapestry Weaving and how it differs from other weaving techniques. On the first day, you will learn how to put a warp on a simple frame loom, plain weave, how to create shapes and patterning such as pick-and-pick. A few days at home to practice this sets you up to develop your skills and learn more techniques and finishing styles on the second day. We aim to complete an attractive and unique wall hanging.
All materials and equipment are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own yarns as well. At the end of the course you have the chance to buy the frame loom for £18, if you want.
