Artistic Practice
My embroidery is very much led by what inspires me followed by what technique is best to accomplish a piece. I use many different techniques from felt making to hand and machine embroidery, to try and achieve the result I want and that I am pleased with.
Artistic History
I have painted and embroidered for pleasure since school – many moons ago.
In my 40’s I enrolled on a City & Guilds Embroidery course to learn more about embroidery and techniques. I completed Parts I and II part time as I was working full time. It was hard to fit it all in but well worth it.
As well as being a member of the Living Threads Group I am also a member of the Second Turning Textile Group and exhibit with both, which keeps me very busy, as well as being a member of the West Bridgford Embroiderers’ Guild.
